Hi, I’m Xingcan Chen, an Electrical Engineering student at Columbia University in New York. I’m interested in the full path from an idea to a working system: describing behavior, designing hardware, and building tools that make the process clearer.
This site is my public notebook. I use it to keep track of projects, explain concepts I’m learning, and share the reasoning behind engineering decisions. The current themes are EDA workflows, FPGA-based digital design, and signal processing.
How I like to work
I value designs that are understandable and testable. That usually means starting with a clear model, writing down assumptions, checking behavior at boundaries, and making results reproducible. I’m still learning, and I try to make that process visible rather than presenting every project as finished.
As this portfolio develops, I’ll add more detailed project notes with verified scope, implementation choices, and results.
